Deep Roots in Cochrane

Community Involvement

Our Story

The Phillips family and Philco Farms have deep roots in Cochrane, having owned this land for almost half a century. Joe Phillips began building the family’s legacy when he bought the first parcels of land that make up Southbow Landing more than 40 years ago. For a time, he raised cattle on the land. His four children, Patricia, Michelle, Joe and Denise grew up playing and visiting there. Today, members of the Edge family (one of Cochrane’s first families to settle in Cochrane in 1887) run cattle on what will be the future Southbow Landing development.

The land is a part of the Phillips family history. We care about it and the community of Cochrane.

Because of our long time connection to the community, the Phillips family and Philco Farms have supported the Town of Cochrane and its residents in the past. We will continue to do so in the future.

"Joe Phillips had a pioneer spirit, extraordinary energy and a commitment to family and community. He broke ground and barriers in many different realms. He always gave the best of himself to the task at hand. His descendants will bring that same energy and vision to Southbow Landing. I wish them success and am confident the town of Cochrane will embrace this development."

- Lynn Edge, Cochrane resident August 20, 2015
